Gemma Knollman BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy

Gemma graduated from the London Metropolitan University in 2003 and is a member of The Society of Sports Therapists. Since qualifying she has worked in gym environments and assisted in ampgemma knollman sports massage therapist ruislip physioutee rehabilitation. For 12 years she has worked at Ruislip Physiotherapy Sports and Spinal Clinic as an important member of the team providing clients with regular sports massages and advice regarding stretches and injury prevention specific to their chosen sport.

Gemma also works for Ruislip RFC with the 1st XV team. She manages all injuries from diagnosis and treatment through to the final stages of rehabilitation and return to match fitness. She provides pitch side emergency care and treatment of new injuries, working closely with the coaches to ensure player safety and well-being is at the fore front of all decisions. Part of her role involves designing and delivering summer fitness camps and pre-season strength and conditioning programmes.

In addition to this, she works closely with the England Rugby Sevens team and is hoping to tour with the team later this year, as well as potentially being involved in the Rio 2016 Olympics. This privileged position allows Gemma to work alongside other therapists treating elite athletes, therefore continually developing her manual skills and understanding of injury management.England Rugby sports massage

Gemma is passionate about the benefits of sports massage and works closely with her clients to achieve their goals, whether these are sport focused or working towards relieving day to day aches and pains. She believes that regular sports massage can aid injury recovery and correct persistent muscle imbalances as well as facilitate muscles to be more efficient and enhance performance, regardless of age or ability. She has an extensive skill set in her field of practice, gaining key attributes from courses such as the Osteon Manual Therapy and Spinal Manipulation training.

Gemma lives and breathes Rugby Union and Rugby Sevens! She also enjoys swimming and has been part of Ealing swimming club for 20 years. Her personal fitness goals are usually focused on training and competing in triathlons and long distance running events.
